Clipper Vac® Motor Change
Procedure (Continued)
**For Wooden Units**
Step 12:
Insert New Motor.
Insert the new motor up through the motor ring.
Note: For Tote models you must insert the motor
without the filter connected.
Step 13:
Hold Motor In Place.
Use a book, block, box, etc., to hold the motor high
enough so you can fold down the rubber boot.
Step 14:
Fold Rubber Boot.
Using your fingers gently fold the rubber boot over
the motor ring.
Step 15:
Install Motor Clamp Cardboard.
Reinstall the Motor Clamp. Make sure the cardboard is
inserted between the rubber boot and the clamp. It is very important that
this step is correct. The cardboard is to insure that the clamp does not
split the rubber boot.
Step 16:
Tighten Clamp.
Using your 5/16 ratchet, tighten the motor clamp.
Be Careful not to over tighten.
Step 17:
Cut Green Ground Wire.
Locate the green ground wire with the blue wire end.
Cut the wire 3 or 4 inches below the blue end.
Step 18:
Strip Unit Ground Wire.
Using your wire strippers, strip the green ground wire still
connected to your unit.
Step 19:
Connect Ground Wires.
Twist together the green ground wire from your unit with
the yellow & green ground wire on your new motor.
Insert twisted wires into the yellow wire cap.
Turn wire cap until snug
Wire cap correctly connected.
Step 20:
Plug In Black Wire With Red End.
Locate the black wire with a red end on your new motor.
Plug it in to the switch.
Step 21:
Strip Black & White Wires.
Locate the other black wire on your new motor.
Locate the white wire you cut earlier.
Strip the wires. The white wire may already be
stripped if it was not soldered earlier.
Step 22:
Connect Black & White Wires.
Insert wires into the yellow wire cap.
Turn wire cap until snug.
Step 23:
Move Wires Away From Motor.
Tuck all loose wires into the foam to make sure they do not
get into the motor.
Step 24:
Test Run
Make sure to plug in your unit and test run the motor before
replacing the lid.
Step 25:
Replace Foam
Gently replace foam to its
original position.
Step 26:
Replace Lid & Screws
Replace the lid.
When starting each screw make sure you are screwing into
the original holes.
If not, you could strip out each hole
and your lid will not seal correctly.
