Clipper Vac® Motor Change Procedure
For Metal Units

Tools:
  1. Phillips Screwdriver
  2. New Motor(s)
  3. Silicone Caulking
  4. Utility Knife
  5. Wire Tool (works as a cutter and a crimper)
  6. 5/16 Ratchet
 
Step 1: Unplug The Unit!
Step 2:

Remove Filter.

Unscrew wing nut from the bottom of your filter.

Pull down on filter to remove.

Step 3:

Remove Lid & Screws.

  1. Locate Lid.
  2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws from the lid. Rotate screwdriver left to loosen screws.
  3. Cut the silicone seal away from the lid. Note: Tote, Model 1 & Model 1A models do not have a silicone seal.
  4. Peel back foam.
Step 4:

Locate Ground Wire.

The ground wire is the yellow-green wire.

Step 5:

Cut Ground Wire.

Using your wire cutters, cut the ground wire end closest to the motor.

Step 6:

Unplug Motor Wire #1.

Locate the white wire with the blue wire end.

Gently pull up to unplug the wire

Step 7:

Unplug Motor Wire #2.

Locate the black wire with the brass wire end.

Gently pull up to unplug the wire

Step 8:

Loosen Motor Clamp.

Using your 5/16 ratchet, loosen the motor clamp.

Step 9:

Remove Clamp & Clamp Cardboard.

Remove Clamp.

After the clamp is removed you should notice a little piece of cardboard stuck to the black motor boot. Pull it off and set it aside.

Step 10:

Pop Rubber Boot.

Make sure that you have a hold of the motor from the bottom. Using you finger pop up the rubber boot and the motor will fall through the motor ring.

Step 11:

Remove Old Motor.

Pull the motor down and out to remove.
